What is the Farm Animal Experience?
Our Farm Animal Experience is a 30-minute guided encounter at Creswick Woollen Mills, led by a friendly and knowledgeable farmer. It’s fun, educational, and suitable for all ages 🐑
Which animals will we meet?
You’ll meet a variety of our much-loved farm animals, including:
Sheep
Merino sheep: Pearl, Shaun, and Baba
Valais Blacknose sheep: Milo and Timmy
Goats
Billy – a miniature goat
Vincent Van Goat – a long-eared Nubian
Alpacas
Huacaya alpacas: Juicy Bear, Choc, and Snowdrop
Rare Suri alpaca: Soloman
Can we touch or pat the animals?
Our sheep and goats are in pens with very clear, up-close views.
They may allow gentle pats if they choose to—we never force animal interaction.
Our alpacas are very curious and love to come close, but they do not allow human contact.
Animal welfare always comes first, and interactions are guided by the animals’ comfort.
Is the experience suitable for children?
Yes! The experience is great for children, families, and animal lovers.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
What will we learn during the session?

How farm animals are cared for
The basics of sustainable farming
How ethical wool is produced in Australia
It’s educational, engaging, and hands-on.
